Some people think that people should be given the right to use fresh water as they like. Others, however, believe that governments should control the use of fresh water. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.
People’s opinions differ as to the utilization of fresh water, the life blood of human society. Although some of my fellow countrymen argue that there should be no regulatory rules over its use, I still insist that authorities are supposed to get this matter under tight control.
It seems reasonable that fresh water is to be used without rules of any form imposed on it. Much akin to air, water which can be drinkable belongs to each and every creature living on this planet and none appears to have the authority to deprive us of the due privilege of taking advantage of it. Also, fresh water is just everywhere and it comes to us in various ways like rain or well or melted snow from the peak of mountains. Its seemingly sufficiency does dwarf those claiming that it is a big deal to conserve it.
In spite of what has been stated, I assume they must have failed to take this issue into consideration against a big backdrop. It is true that nearly 70% of the surface of the earth is covered with water but the majority of it is seawater which is undrinkable at all. Likewise, animals and plants would have been killed if being irrigated by such liquid containing an extremely high concentration of salt. In other words, fresh water turns out to be a real rarity on this planet. What makes us even more worrying is that, despite the frequent media coverage of the limited storage of fresh water across the globe, people are just ignorant of the urgency of saving it, using it lavishly with the least knowledge that it could be exhausted.
In conclusion, fresh water is not finite and its smart usage has to be promoted across the entire world. Otherwise, we would push ourselves to the brink of a severe water shortage.
