雅思口语词汇方面的实用小技巧掌握如何灵活的使用词汇是雅思口语考试要求的技能之一。但是由于词汇量有限，我们中大部分考生不能像英语母语者一样熟练的使用各种词汇来表达自己的观点。然而这也没有关系，我们依旧可以使用一些技巧来提高分数。下面我们来介绍几种有关词汇的雅思口语小技巧。
1. Circumlocution
(Talking around the topic)
当我们找不到词语表达自己的观点的时候，我们可以试着围绕自己的观点进行讨论。如果你想表达某个事物，但是你不知道对应的词汇，这时你可以详细描述它的特点，这样就会给考官描绘出一幅形象的画面，考官就会容易理解。
比如，如果你想表达a gated community，那么你就可以详细描述它的特点，像have to have bodyguards, live behind bars, behind big walls, children are always protected, they don’t have the freedom等都是a gated community的特点。
2. Asking for clarification
在口语考试中，考官提问时可能会用一些考生不知道意思的词汇，如果遇到这种情况，大家也不必慌张，完全可以适当反问考官那个词汇是什么意思。比如考官问了这个问题：
Computer technology places a big role in children’s education today, do you think the benefits of using computers are overrated?
如果这时你不知道overrated的意思，你可以说：
Sorry, I’m not quite sure what do you mean by overrated.
或者可以说：
Would you mind explaining what overrated means?
在雅思口语考试，适当的提问是不会造成扣分的，相反，这向考官展示了你的口语表达能力。
3. 猜测词义
继续以overrated举例，如果你不知道它的意思，但你肯定知道overweight, overpopulation, 这里的前缀over-都表示“过多”的意思，因此可以推测它是一个贬义词。之后询问考官自己的理解是否正确。这样不但不会造成扣分，而且会展示你可以灵活的使用这个语言的能力。

雅思口语部分问题设置的目的是希望考生可以表达自己的观点、做推测或给出建议。所以考生有必要在这几方面掌握一些实用句型。
1. 表达自己的观点的句型
以问题 “Do you think there is too much violence in films today?” 为例，下面是一些表达自己观点的句型：
As far as I’m concerned, there is too much violence in films these days.
In my opinion, there is too much violence in films these days.
From my point of view, there is too much violence in films these days.
It seems to me that there is too much violence in films these days.
Well, I would say there is too much violence in films these days.
2. 做推测与给出建议的句型
做推测就是需要考生对一些不确定的事情给出自己的理解与建议。以问题 “Why do teenagers vandalize public transport?” 为例，下面是有关做推测的句型：
If I have to guess, I’ll say that is boredom.
I’m not sure, but from my observation, it’s boredom.
I imagine that the most important reason would be boredom.
以问题 “What would you do to improve public transport?” 为例，下面是有关给出建议的句型：
I think what should be done is increasing services.
The problem could be solved by increasing services.
What might be done is increasing services.
除此之外，考生还要学会熟练使用各种形式的同义词近义词的能力。比如，我们想表达“快“这个意思，我们不仅仅可以说fast，quick，我们还可以使用它们的其他词形词性（faster，quickly），或使用词组（rushing all the time）来表达。
