以下举两个例子来看,例句摘自《Common mistakes at IELTS Advanced and how to avoid them》。
·These are problems for students living awayfrom the family.
·We don't know the effects of such chemicalson the body.
·The role ofthe studentat university level varies greatly from country to country.
·Most of our business is carried out overthe telephone.
·There is a problem withthe availability of clean waterin some villages.
·The distribution of incomeis uneven in most countries.
·On the whole, the standard of livingis better in urban areas.
·Many residents complained aboutthe frequency of bus services.
·This advance was brought about bythe development of antibiotics.
·He made a number of recommendations forthe improvement of staff training.
需要注意的是:the developmeng/improvement...of sth,经常用来描述一般的变化过程,但是developments/improvements...in sth,是去描述具体的改变:We try to keep up-to-date with newdevelopments ininformation technology.
