RO 080171. The rails were pulled out of The 600-meter tunnel, which had been bored through the sandstone in The Wollemi National Park, and The tunnel was left to its own devices.
RA 010152. In his landmark account, first published over twenty years ago, the author argues that the ignorance and lethargy of the poor are direct results of the whole situation of economic, social and political domination.
The poor 在此处的用法等于了 poor people, 还有很多常见the rich, the old, the young….
SWT 061024. Like those, the frog found in Chiapas appears to be of the genus Craugastor…
此句话的主干其实就是Chiapas发现的frog appears to be of the genus Craugastor. (动词是appears)
SWT 062017. As far as prediction is concerned, remember that the chairman of
IBM predicted in the fifties that the world would need a maximum of around half a dozen computers, that the British Department for Education seemed to think in the eighties that we would all need to be able to code in BASIC and that in the nineties Microsoft failed to foresee the rapid growth of the Internet.
此处 in the fifties 和 in the eighties 意为50 和80年代 。
RA 010121. Brought to the UK in 1839.
SWT 063013.Thirty-six cubic miles of smoky ash, dust, and grit had diffused through the atmosphere, obscuring the Sun’s rays and causing the Earth to cool
