首先，判断好已知信息或者答案的词性
这种方法通常用于填空类的题目。我在上课的时候经常告诉学生，即使单词不认识，也至少可以根据这个单词在句子的位置去判断词性。 例如，剑桥11(简称“剑11”)的28页第30题：put a large number of tiny spacecraft into orbit far above Earth to create a…….that would reduce the amount of light reaching Earth. 这道题目答案要求是：只填一个单词，答案词性为：可数名词单数。 根据题目的定位词可以定位到文中B段倒数第二句话“to form a transparent, sunlight-refracting sunshade in an orbit 1.5 million km above the Earth. 当很多学生满心欢喜地找到这句话的时候却突然犹豫，因为 “transparent”、 “sunlight-refracting”和 “sunshade”都不太好理解，不知道哪一个词为答案。
而如果我们运用一些语法知识去判断词性的话，就能反应过来：“a” 后面无论接多少个单词，一定保证后一个词词性为名词，再加上 “sunlight-refracting” 两个词中间由连字符连接，词性为形容词，修饰名词，因此文中这句话中答案为sunshade。
第二，根据句子中出现的连接词理解文章 阅读中常用连接词有很多，在此我就拿 “while” 举例。这个词其中一个释义为“然而”，引导的从句和主句有比对关系。 例如，剑11的71页第14题：Local gulls and migrating arctic terns behave in the same way when offered food. 根据题目中的定位词可以定位到文中第二段前两句话： An arctic tern, on its 20,000 km flight from the extreme south of South America to the Arctic circle, will take no notice of a nice smelly herring offered from a bird-watcher's boat along the way. While local gulls will dive voraciously for such handouts, the tern flies on. 这句话中出现了一些不好理解的词 “smelly herring”、 “dive voraciously” 和 “handouts”，并且句式也比较复杂。但是这两句话中出现了 “while” 这个词，因此后面引导的从句与逗号后面的主句为对比关系，与题目中的考点 “behave in the same way” 相冲突，因此这道题答案为FALSE。

第三，根据上下文的信息去理解 例如，剑5的63页E段第二句话：The results were phenomenal. By the age of three, the children in the programme were significantly more advanced in language development than their peers, had made greater strides in problem solving and other intellectual skills, and problem were further along in social development. 句中 “phenomenal” 对于很多学生来说都是生词，或者当把它理解成为“现象的”的意思，就更不知所云，以至于影响到64页第4题“a description of the positive outcomes of an education programme”的作答。 不过这个词可以判断词性为形容词(al结尾)，表达了一定感论坛彩，下一句话中会具体解释说明 “结果如何phenomenal”。
