Countries are becoming more and more similar because people are able to buy the same products anywhere in the world.
Do you think this is a positive or negative development?
本道题目也是利弊分析类议论文,但和通常出现的形式do the advantages outweigh the disadvantages不同的是,本题的问法a positive or negative development?

With the development of international trade and multinational companies nowadays, customers can buy the same products in different countries. Although there are some positive aspects regarding to [去掉]this phenomenon, I believe that it will bring more negative influences.
It should be acknowledged that positive effects do exist when the same commodities are available to people throughout the world. First of all, it is easier for international students or workers to adapt to a new environment if they have access to the same products in the host country as in their home countries. If they had not the opportunity to buy similar brands of clothes, snacks, or utensils, they would [might]have been intimated by the strangeness and failed to have faith for life. Furthermore, the settling in of international brands can provide job opportunities for local people, or it may encourage some to go abroad to work in another branch office. In other words, this trend can facilitate the mobility of workers internationally.
However, despite the aforementioned benefits, the drawbacks of such a phenomenon should not be neglected. The popular global brands may replace some local products, which embed unique cultural elements. For example, in Scotland, I can hardly see clothing store selling kilts, a traditional Scottish uniform, but imported brands such as H&M or Zara are the norm. This might lead to a loss of cultural identity [加within local people]. Worse [改为in addition], tourism may also [去掉]be negatively influenced, as tourists would not be willing to pay for similar varieties of souvenirs, including magnets, postcards, or key rings, at every place of interest.
In conclusion, though I believe some benefits are associated with the trend that people can buy similar things all over the world, they are outweighed by the negative influences on cultural identity and tourism industry.

It is said that countries are becoming similar to each other because of the global spread of the same products, which are now available for purchase almostanywhere. I strongly believe that this modern development is largely detrimental to culture and traditions worldwide.

A country’s history, language and ethos are all inextricably bound up in itsmanufactured artefacts. If the relentless advance of international brands into every corner of the world continues, these bland packages might one day completely oust the traditional objects of a nation, which would be a loss of richness and diversity in the world, as well as the sad disappearance of the manifestations of a place's character. What would a Japanese tea ceremony be without its specially crafted teapot, or a Fijian kava ritual without its bowl made from a certain type of tree bark?
Let us not forget either that traditional products, whether these be medicines, cosmetics, toys, clothes, utensils or food, provide employment for local people. The spread of multinational products can often bring in its wake a loss of jobs, as people turn to buying the new brand, perhaps thinking it more glamorous than the one they are used to. This eventually puts old-school craftspeople out of work.
Finally, tourism numbers may also be affected, as travellers become disillusioned with finding every place just the same as the one they visited previously. To see the same products in shops the world over is boring, and does not impel visitors to open their wallets in the same way that trinkets or souvenirs unique to the particular area do.
Some may argue that all people are entitled to have access to the same products but I say that local objects suit local conditions best, and that faceless uniformity worldwide is an unwelcome and dreary prospect.
4. main idea3,2句,topic sentence(旅游业会受影响,因为旅游者会很失望) 展开(一样的商品会让旅游者不买)
