2018年中美电影票房统计
Emerging from the table is the result of a survey on Chinese and American box office. To be specific, one can see that the domestic box office of Chinese films and American films have reached 24.3 billion and 13.2 billion, accounting for 80% and 33% in respective countries, while the international box offices of both have been 5.7 and 26.8 billion, taking up 19% and 67% respectively.

What are the factors behind this phenomenon? The most self-evident and contributory factor is that as the increase in people’s taste and the development of our movie market, the film directors have no alternative but to enhance the quality of Chinese films to avoid being eliminated by the market. Another factor that cannot be ignored is that the government in China has also played an essential role. To promote the film culture in China, the departments concerned have introduced some preferential policies, such as subsidies for domestic films, import quota and so on to encourage filmmakers to generate excellent films.
From the statistics provided and analysis above, we may draw the conclusion that with the development of Chinese film industry, Chinese movie will be appreciated and shared by an increasing number of people from different cultural backgrounds. As things stand, it is safe to predict that Chinese movies will own a promising future in years to come.
