考研英语翻译题型解析

找从属连词：that, that
找谓语动词：tends, lack, are
断1：that are essential to its healthy functioning；（断到末尾3）
解1：that是多从连词，据“左倾原则”：该从句左边是并列连词but，启动“并”操作1：可知C点是but后的that, D点是 functioning，B点是but前的value, 据“依始定始”，据C点可判断出A点是that；启动“并”操作2：可得that lack commercial value, but that are essential to its healthy functioning是统一整体；该整体左边是名词land community，可知是定语从句；Tips：该定从实际上是修饰elements，而非land community, 先行词elements和定从之间出现介宾结构in the land community这种现象是“结构”，在第三章特殊情况中会有详细的讲解。这种特殊情况在历年真题中出现的比较少，但是一旦出现一般没几个同学能看出来。这一点与其说比较难，还不如说出题人出题不厚道，特别是出现在寸词寸分的翻译里边。
去或替1：定语从句是枝叶，需要“去”掉；
句子的主干：It tends to ignore, and thus eventually to eliminate, many elements in the land community.
句子的结构：It tends to ignore, and thus eventually to eliminate, many elements in the land community 大形but 大形。
翻译：它（这种保护体系）往往会忽视，并因此之终会消除陆生群落中的很多物种，这些物种缺乏商业价值但是对其健康机制至关重要。
