Do you agree or disagree with the following statement: Movies and television programs should present stories that good people should be rewarded and bad people should be punished?

Should movies and television programs tell tales with happy endings? Some people may frown on such fictions because they are boring. From my perspective, however, it is fun to see videotaped stories in which the good people get rewarded and the opposite punished.
It resonates morally and emotionally with audiences when the good are rewarded and the bad are punished in films and TV series. Although mores evolve over time and vary from country to country, the basic moral value is universal that each individual should do no harms to others and is encouraged to be helpful and beneficent to a society.
All cultures want to reward and praise a good person, whereas condemning and punishing a bad one. Therefore, we are happy to see a brave man in a movie who protects a weak lady against gangsters receive applauses instead of laughs. We would cheer up when people in a war film give credit to a loyal general who firmlyguards his country despite rumors from enemies of his treason.
By contrast, we would be sad and even criticize the director or the writer of fictions in which criminals defeat police, greedy businessmen outcompete honest employers by fake products or tricks, or ambitious evil men win over rivals who are committed to serve citizens. In short, we wish to see our moral criteria apply to both reality as well as fictions on screens.
Certainly, such movies and television programs sound boring to some because they can easily predict the plots by moral values. For example, people would be reluctant to go to cinemas when the story is about a classical moral exemplar in history who they already learned in school. However, while conceding the beauty of fictional tales is unpredictability, I believe that meeting moral standards does not necessary mean being lack of twists.
What viewers hope for is a happy ending not a necessarily happy process. Creative makers are able to add suspensions like temporary falls of the morally good and transient rises of the immoral before a perfect expected result at last. In Batman, a popular Hollywood film, there are two attractive characters: A brave, completely justice hero Bruce and one of his rival the joker who is addicted to make chaos.
All film watchers know for sure that the positive figure will defeat the negative joker, but this predictable happy final scene does not repel audiences away. This is because there are many dramatically compelling twists on the way to that happy ending, such as the hurt Bruce gets and the disorder of the cities achieved by the joker.
Overall, fictional stories on screens should depict a world where both the good and the bad get what they deserve morally.
