This table illustrates the difference in the approval rating in terms of garbage sorting among people in a certain city of China. According to the statistics,66%of people between 20 to 50 are in fayor of sorting garbage, followed by those under 20 years old, who take up54%.Those over 50 have the lowest approval rating, accounting for 38%.
The contributory factors can mainly be summarized into two points. First and foremost,because of the publicization of the environmental education, citizens nowadays come to realize that burning trash can emit a large amount of smoke and toxic gas, which poses great threat to people's health and the environment. Thus, they place much emphasis on the environmental protection by classifying rubbish. In addition, indeed, some of the garbage, like paper and cans, is recyclable and reusable, so the garbage of this kind can be renewed to be taken full advantage of, which is conducive to conserving energy.
