result in : 导致。【OK 复习一下“导致”的 近义词组/词 ： lead to/ bring about/ give rise to / generate 】。 — the degree to which people feel they can take risks without fear of recrimination —： 这个破折号的部分是一个插入语、对前面“low psychological safety ”的解释。何者为“低心理安全水平”呢？也就是：人们在何种程度上觉得自己可以在不担心遭到指责的情况下冒险。 Stifle: V. /?sta?f?l/ 抑止，阻止，压制。 natural drive ：自然动力；天然的能动性。 Top-down orders ：自上而下的命令。

engender ：V. 引起、激发、使促成。 Ironically ：具有讽刺意味的是；出乎意料的是；恰恰相反的是。 翻译技巧： Ironically, humble leadership works not by demanding perfection, but its opposite — by showing that humans are never perfect and must explore, fail and practice in order to learn and improve. ：这句话中的 work 也是奏效 的意思。我昨天在那这篇文章练习翻译的时候也遇到了一些小问题。后来再梳理一遍原文弄明白了。作何解呢“谦逊的领导力的产生并不依靠苛求完美，而恰恰与之相反— 它通过表明人无完人，必须要通过探索、经历失败、不断实践，才能学有所得。”（我的这个译本稍微意译了一下，有没有更好理解一点？）以及我觉得这句话本身也很棒呀～

agility : n. 敏捷、灵活、机敏。 is critical for ：对...而言是至关重要的= Be essential for. be a huge advantage in their careers : 他们职业生涯中的一大优势。未完待续
