Last summer, my little sister suddenly decided to go to Japan for further study, which meant that she had to be familiar with Japanese language in a very short time. She really felt restless and didn’t know what to do, since Japanese language was not her strong suit.
At first, she bought some Japanese magazines and novels that might help her accumulate more vocabularies and understand the grammatical structure of Japanese. However, her head was swimming, since she could not understand at all. I went over and put a comforting arm around her. I told her it was not a good idea to do so, as it might take years and even longer. I encouraged her to communicate with some native speakers and experienced teachers so that she could improve listening ability and spoken language at the same time. Additionally, I recommended her to watch Japanese animation, which I thought was one of the most efficient ways to improve Japanese language in a short period. She followed my suggestions and put in so much hard work and perseverance.
As a result, her Japanese improved rapidly in 7 weeks, and at the beginning of this year, he successfully received an unconditional offer from Waseda University in Japan. As a matter of fact, I’m quite proud of her, since all her efforts have paid off. Her success proves that sometimes learning methods are much more important than hard work.
